Biography

J Farrell MacDonald was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. MacDonald began his acting career appearing in various films, such as "Riders of Vengeance" (1919) with Harry Carey, "Marked Men" (1920) and "Hitchin' Posts" (1920). He also appeared in "The Wallop" (1921), "The Freeze Out" (1921) and the Tom Mix western "Trailin'" (1921). He continued to act in productions like "This Sporting Age" (1932), the drama "Hotel Continental" (1932) with Peggy Shannon and "The Hurricane Express" (1932). He also appeared in "The Phantom Express" (1932). Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in the Richard Greene action film "Submarine Patrol" (1938), "The Crowd Roars" (1938) and the drama "White Banners" (1938) with Claude Rains. He also appeared in the Robert Livinston western "The Lone Ranger Rides Again" (1939) and the Oliver Hardy comedy "Zenobia" (1939). MacDonald more recently acted in "Superman and the Mole Men" (1951). MacDonald was married to Mrs. Mrs MacDonald. MacDonald passed away in August 1952 at the age of 77.
