Synopsis

Young widow Janet Loring marries millionaire Malcolm Trask, keeping her former marriage secret and deserting her son Ranny. Ranny becomes a street urchin, eventually joining the household of a bookseller and her granddaughter, Margy. Janet regrets her desertion of the boy and advertises for his return. Marcio, a notorious blackmailer, sends Ranny to pose as her son, unaware that he really is the one. Ranny takes money from his mother to buy a cottage for his fiancée, Margy, but becomes conscience-stricken and admits that he is an impostor. When Janet convinces him that he actually is her son, Trask welcomes the boy as his own, and Ranny marries his sweetheart.
