Synopsis

Famous screen star Irma Gladden is a beautiful and calculating heartbreaker, whose current leading man is her estranged second husband. Her estranged husband knows that Irma is in love with two men: Rex Forsythe, a dialogue writer, who is jealous of all the attention Irma receives, and her director. Irma is disliked by many, and is threatened by both her estranged husband and the director's wife. After Irma is found murdered in her car, a police captain asks the assistance of Bob Adair, a reporter who is an expert at solving murder mysteries. While he is investigating possible suspects, who include Irma's estranged husbands, a chauffeur who was fired for stealing, and a jealous wife, Adair falls in love with Irma's former secretary. The rushes for the film Irma was making at the time of her death provide clues to the solution of the crime. Bob proves that Forsythe is the murderer and, Forsythe rushes in during the screening and shoots Adair. Later, Adair has married the secretary and is recovering from his wound in the hospital.
