Synopsis

Looking for work, cowhands Pokey and Pee Wee stop at the Coburn ranch in Arizona. They arrive just as the ranch hands have captured the outlaw stallion known as Sky Rex, and when Pokey succeeds in riding the stallion, he is awarded a job and the horse. Soon after, Pokey falls in love with Coburn's daughter Georgia, but Coburn, who is in danger of losing his ranch to pay back taxes and gambling debts, wants Georgia to marry the wealthy sportsman Van Wyck. Consequently, when Pokey and Van Wyck come to blows over Georgia, Coburn fires Pokey and orders him off the ranch. Hoping to earn enough money to pay his back taxes, Coburn enters his horse Sky Lancer in the sweepstakes, but Van Wyck, determined to win Georgia at any price, drugs the horse on the morning of the race. Learning of Van Wyck's treachery, Georgia finds Pokey and convinces him to enter Sky Rex in the race, and the horse beats Van Wyck's steed to win the race and save the ranch. With the ranch out of financial danger, Pokey and Georgia become engaged, and Coburn appoints his future son-in-law ranch foreman.
