Synopsis

Shane O'Mealia emigrates from Ireland to the United States, having promised to send for his sweetheart, Moyna Killiea, when he has earned money for her passage. He lives with the Morahans in New York, where he is unlucky in finding jobs and is constantly seen with Judy Dugan, for whose father he finds a job and whom he induces to take the temperance pledge. Secretly, Morahan goes to Ireland and brings back Moyna and her mother. As a result of a misunderstanding, Moyna believes that Shane and Judy are engaged to be married, and she vanishes. When found, she refuses to see Shane until his employer's sister, Mrs. Van Dusen, gives her a frock to wear to a party. At first Shane does not recognize her in her finery, but when he dances into her arms they are happily reunited.
