Dave O'Brien was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Dave O'Brien was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. O'Brien's career in acting began with his roles in various films like "The Black Coin" (1936), "Reefer Madness" (1936) and "Lightnin' Crandall" (1937) with Bob Steele. He also appeared in "Frontier Scout" (1938), "Whirlwind Horseman" (1938) and the western "The Utah Trail" (1938) with Tex Ritter. He continued to work steadily in film throughout the forties, appearing in the Bobby Jordan comedy "That Gang of Mine" (1940), the James Dunn drama "Son of the Navy" (1940) and "Sky Bandits" (1940). He also appeared in "Yukon Flight" (1940). In the latter half of his career, he tackled roles in "Return of the Rangers" (1944), "Gunsmoke Mesa" (1944) and "Outlaw Roundup" (1944). He also appeared in "Guns of the Law" (1944) and "Gangsters of the Frontier" (1944). O'Brien was most recently credited in "Secret Societies" (History, 2000-01). O'Brien won an Outstanding Writing Achievement In Comedy Primetime Emmy Award for "The Red Skelton Show" in 1961. O'Brien was nominated for an Outstanding Writing Achievement In Comedy Primetime Emmy Award for "The Red Skelton Show" in 1962. O'Brien passed away in November 1969 at the age of 57.
