Synopsis

After the death of wealthy industrialist Gaston Rodier in Paris, his daughter Béatrice [Christine] promises to find her brother, Guy, a Nazi collaborator in World War II and now self-exiled in Africa. She finds him in the isolated desert town of Tombor, but he refuses to return with her. Although courted by Eliott, an American pilot, Béatrice pretends to be attracted to Ergy, an unscrupulous adventurer who dominates Tombor, in order to rouse Guy from his relationship with Maria, a desperate woman kept alive by his companionship. Rescued from Ergy by Guy, Béatrice leaves her brother and flees with Eliott by plane.
