Ward Crane was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Biography

Ward Crane was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Crane kickstarted his acting career in various films such as "The Dark Star" (1919), "The Luck of the Irish" (1920) and "French Heels" (1922). He also appeared in "Empty Hands" (1924). He continued to work steadily in film throughout the twenties, appearing in the comedy "Sherlock, Jr." (1924) with Buster Keaton, "How Baxter Butted in" (1925) and "The Mad Whirl" (1925). In the latter part of his career, he tackled roles in the Lon Chaney horror movie "The Phantom of the Opera" (1925), the western "The Flaming Frontier" (1926) with Hoot Gibson and "Upstage" (1926). Crane more recently acted in "The Rush Hour" (1927). Crane passed away in July 1928 at the age of 38.
