Doran's career in acting began with her roles in various films like the drama "Their Own Desire" (1929) with Norma Shearer, the dramatic adaptation "The Trial of Mary Dugan" (1929) with Norma Shearer and "New York Nights" (1929). She also appeared in "The Broadway Melody" (1929), "Our Blushing Brides" (1930) and "Remote Control" (1930). She continued to act in productions like "They Learned About Women" (1930) with Bessie Love, the Norma Shearer drama "The Divorcee" (1930) and the sports "The Iron Man" (1931) with Lew Ayres. She also appeared in "Criminal Code" (1931) with Walter Huston. Film continued to be her passion as she played roles in the Harold Lloyd comedy "Movie Crazy" (1932), "Union Depot" (1932) with Douglas Fairbanks Jr. and the Conway Tearle mystery "Sing Sing Nights" (1934). She also appeared in "Sunset Range" (1935) and the dramatic comedy "Murder in the Fleet" (1935) with Robert Raylor. Doran more recently worked on the Kenny Easterday drama "The Kid Brother" (1989). Doran passed away in September 1995 at the age of 88.
