Synopsis

Reggie Reynolds, a 17-year-old high school student, is more mathematician than athlete, but when junk shop owner Zeke gives Reggie a pair of magic red sneakers, he is transformed into a great basketball player.

High school student Reggie Reynolds lives with his hard-working single mother Gloria. Reggie is a great student, but a lackluster athlete who longs to be a superstar. That is until he meets Zeke, the mystical owner of a "junk shop." In exchange for a helping hand, Zeke offers Reggie anything in the shop. Reggie chooses a "magical" pair of red canvas hightop sneakers that transform him into an unstoppable basketball player. Uncle Joe, a disreputable scout for sneaker company entrepreneur Mercado, sees Reggie's new skills at tryouts. Uncle Joe and Mercado attempt to exploit Reggie's new talents by convincing him to endorse the company's shoes. When Mercado discovers that it's the sneakers that are making Reggie play so well, he steals them before the big game, forcing Reggie to look inward and use his natural talents.
