Biography

Walter James was an actor who graced the silver screen many times throughout his Hollywood career. In his early acting career, James appeared in such films as "Fair Lady" (1922), "Little Annie Rooney" (1925) and the Tom Mix drama "The Everlasting Whisper" (1925). He also appeared in the suspenseful adaptation "The Monster" (1925) with Lon Chaney, the comedy adaptation "Battling Butler" (1926) with Buster Keaton and "The Irresistible Lover" (1927). He continued to work steadily in film throughout the twenties and the nineties, appearing in "The Patent Leather Kid" (1927), the Charles Bickford western "Hell's Heroes" (1929) and the comedy "Modern Times" (1936) with Charlie Chaplin. He also appeared in "The Panther's Claw" (1942) with Sidney Blackmer. James was additionally credited in "Midnight in Savannah" "The Century: America's Time" (History, 1998-99) and "Women in Prison: Nowhere to Hide" (NBC, 1999-2000). His credits also expanded to "Blackout" (PBS, 2000-01) and "Lotteries: It Could Happen to You" (2000-01). James was most recently credited in "Mega Dens" (DIY Network, 2010-14). James passed away in June 1946 at the age of 64.
