Synopsis

King Rudolph, traveling incognito in search of the daughter of his onetime peasant sweetheart, is attracted to Mayflower, whose only friend among the band of thieves with whom she lives is François, son of "The Schoolmaster," leader of the Paris underground. Rudolph puts Mayflower in the care of his former nurse, but she is kidnaped and imprisoned by Owl and her cohorts. François and Rudolph outwit the cutthroats and rescue Mayflower, but François is mortally wounded while releasing the lovers from a flooding dungeon. The king now perceives that Mayflower is the girl whom he has sought.
