Arlen Dean Snyder was a prolific actor who created a name for himself largely on the big screen. Snyder started off his acting career mostly in film roles, appearing in "False Face" (1976), the romance "Yanks" (1979) with Richard Gere and "Deadly Force" (1983) with Wings Hauser. He also appeared in the TV movie "Young Love, First Love" (CBS, 1979-1980). He worked in television in his early acting career as well, including parts on "M*A*S*H" (CBS, 1972-1983) and "Dear Detective" (CBS, 1978-79). He continued to act in productions like the action film "Heartbreak Ridge" (1986) with Clint Eastwood, the action movie "No Man's Land" (1987) with Charlie Sheen and the Forest Whitaker biopic "Bird" (1988). He also worked in television around this time, including a part on "Trauma Center" (ABC, 1983-84). During the latter part of his career, he continued to act in "The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia" (1991) with Kristy McNichol and the action picture "Running Cool" (1993) with Andrew Divoff. Additionally, he appeared on the television special "Frog Girl: The Jenifer Graham Story" (CBS, 1989-1990). Most recently, Snyder acted in "Brooklyn Lobster" (2005).
