Synopsis

Follows Victorian physician Eleanor Bramwell as she continues to shake up the British medical establishment. In the first episode, Eleanor and Marsham try to help Rose, a young girl with an extraordinarily large head, who works as a "living curiosity" at a local street fair.In the second episode, Eleanor discovers that a woman who was injured in an accident, has a hairy masculine chest and is named Frederick Hackett. In the third episode, Eleanor's father, Robert, leaves her at a seaside hotel following their vacation. Finn O'Neill joins her there and they become lovers. This upsets her father and Eleanor leaves the family home. In the fourth episode, Eleanor rekindles her affair with Finn O'Neill, while her father Robert is distracted by Alice Costigan. In the fifth episode, Alice Costigan invites Robert to her country estate, but he has a rival for her affections - another doctor. Meanwhile, Marsham has found a better paying job and gives his notice. In the six episode, Marsham learns that his wife has breast cancer and puts his trust in the Bramwells to save her.
