Synopsis

Val is a high school teacher who wants to send an important message to the students and the community by mounting a one-act play that dramatizes the results of a teen massacre. He wants to reach one student in particular, Trevor, who has become a social outcast and is developing violent behavior. As the high school students work together to rehearse the play, Trevor finds himself torn between his impulse to embrace the message that the play offers and his desire to run with a gang, led by Sean, that may be planning an attack on the school.

Adaptation of William Mastrosimone's play about violence in schools. Mastrosimone was inspired to write the play when his son's school had been canceled for a day following an anonymous death threat made by a student.
