Franz Grothe's musical talents have contributed to a variety of Hollywood productions. In 1960, he founded the Franz Grothe Stiftung Foundation to help struggling performers. Grothe's music was featured in the Hansjorg Felmy dramedy "Wir Wunderkinder" (1959). His music was also used in the O W Fischer comedic adaptation "Arms and the Man" (1962). Later in his career, Grothe worked on "Ein Tag ist schoener ais der andere" (1970). Grothe passed away in September 1982 at the age of 74.
