Throughout his Hollywood career, Michael Tomlinson acted in a wide variety of dramatic films. In the early stages of his acting career, Tomlinson was featured in films like "The Package" (1989) starring Gene Hackman and "Jacob's Ladder" (1990) with Tim Robbins. He had an early role on the television special "House of Cards" (1990-96). He worked in television in his early acting career as well, including parts on "L.A. Law" (NBC, 1986-1994) and "Murphy Brown" (CBS, 1988-1998). He continued to act in productions like the period drama "My Family, Mi Familia" (1995) with Jimmy Smits and the William Hurt drama "Loved" (1998). He also worked in television around this time, including a part on "The Marshal" (ABC, 1994-96). More recently, he continued to act in the John Travolta dramatic adaptation "Domestic Disturbance" (2001) and the Mel Gibson action movie "We Were Soldiers" (2002). He also was featured in the TV movie "Our Guys: Outrage in Glen Ridge" (ABC, 1998-99). He held additional roles in television including a part on "Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda" (2000-05).
