Synopsis

A runaway train carrying hazardous waste careens through the Rocky Mountains, picking up speed every second as it races towards Denver. John Seger, an investigator for the National Transportation Safety Board, drops to the roof of the speeding train from a helicopter in an attempt to stop it from crashing. He is able to save lives but the train crashes into the mountains causing an explosive fire. As survivors evacuate Denver, law and order collapses and Gestapo-like tactics are carried out by lawman such as Mac, as Seger struggles to find his wife Megan and their two children.
