Biography
Anton Lesser was an actor who was no stranger to being featured in numerous film roles throughout his Hollywood career. Lesser started his acting career landing roles in films, such as the comedy "The Missionary" (1981) with Michael Palin, "Good and Bad at Games" (1983) and the drama "The Assam Garden" (1985) with Deborah Kerr. He also appeared in the fantastical drama "Fairytale - A True Story" (1997) with Florence Hoath. He also appeared in the TV movie "Sakharov" (HBO, 1983-84). He had an early role on the television special "Monsignor Quixote" (PBS, 1986-87). He kept working in film throughout the nineties and the early 2000s, starring in the Cate Blanchett action flick "Charlotte Gray" (2001), "Esther Kahn" (2002) with Summer Phoenix and "Miss Potter" (2006) with Renee Zellweger. He also appeared in the TV special "The Moonstone" (PBS, 1997-98). He also had a part in the TV miniseries "The Hollow Crown" (2012-). Most recently, Lesser acted in the Vera Farmiga period drama "Closer to the Moon" (2015).
