Synopsis
Dude ranch foreman Ken Baxter is enamored of Gloria Hanley, the spoiled daughter of the wealthy Henry Hanley. Also at the ranch is Eric Simpson, a fortune-hunter who, although dating a girl named Betty Johns, intends to marry Gloria. When Ken and the foreman rescue Gloria from a wild ride on Ken's horse, she feigns anger, and her mother demands Ken's dismissal from the ranch. Following his resignation, Ken becomes a guest and engages Eric in a fight. Ken wins the fight, but Eric later elopes with Gloria. Ken follows Eric and Gloria and steals his unwilling sweetheart away from Eric. While riding back to the ranch, a storm forces Ken and Gloria to take shelter in a deserted shack, where she has a tantrum and throws Ken's gun into the fire. Ken and Gloria are intruded upon by the notorious bandit LaCrosse and his henchmen, who insist on sharing the shelter with them. As Ken is unarmed and fears for Gloria's safety, he tells the bandits that Gloria is his mentally ill wife. Gloria betrays Ken, however, when she slips the bandits a note saying that if they help her escape her father will pay them a large sum of money. The bandits decide to abduct Gloria instead and hold her for ransom. They overpower Ken, who, while struggling to free himself, accidentally starts a fire. LaCrosse takes Ken's horse, but when Ken whistles a distress signal, the horse unseats LaCrosse and comes to his rescue. Once freed, Ken goes after the bandits and rescues Gloria, who realizes that she loves him and promises to ride alongside him forever.
