Synopsis

Kent Taggart and his parents purchase Federal land in the West. Wealthy rancher Ben Blazer and his son Rusty Bob, who own most of the territory, attack the Taggarts in an attempt to drive them off the land. Kent is wounded and watches Rusty Bob brutally murder his parents. He follows the Blazers into town, kills Rusty Bob, and wounds Ben. Before dying, Ben hires three gunmen to track down Kent. The three men overtake him, and in an exchange of gunfire, Kent kills one and wounds another before heading into Apache country. Jason, the remaining gunman, then shoots his wounded partner, who has become a burden, and pursues Kent alone. Meanwhile, Kent comes upon a mission inhabited by an aging gold miner named Stark, his young Mexican wife, Consuela, and daughter Miriam. Kent wins the miner's friendship by helping to repel an Indian attack, and Stark locks up Jason when he arrives with legal authorization to take Kent prisoner. Consuela tries unsuccessfully to seduce Kent, and, angered by her failure, she frees Jason and helps him steal her husband's gold. They join a wagon train and Consuela tries to run away with the gold, but she is killed during an Indian attack. At a U. S. Cavalry fort, Jason encounters Kent, Miriam, and Stark just as the soldiers are preparing to face an Indian attack. Jason kills Stark, but Kent shoots Jason's horse from under him, and he is crushed by the weight of the stolen gold. The battle subsides, and Miriam and Kent are left to start a new life together.
