Synopsis
Ariane, a German ballet dancer, has been assigned the leading role in the "Ballets Modernes." Then the financial backer of the production decides to replace Ariane with his mistress, and Ariane is left unemployed. Despite the warnings of a Negro musician friend, she turns to a striptease club, The Crazy Horse Saloon, recommended by her friend Dodo. She is hired at this club and spends several nights watching the others perform. On her first night as a performer, she refuses to uncover her breasts. This act of modesty makes her a favorite among the audience. Jean-Loup, a millionaire playboy, attends one show and falls in love with Ariane. At first she resists his attentions but she eventually begins to accept the gifts he offers her and becomes his mistress. His parents, upset by the romance of their son and a stripteaser, threaten to disinherit him. Confronting his parents in Ariane's presence he in turn threatens that, if disinherited, he will marry Ariane. Humiliated, Ariane breaks with him and returns his gifts during one of her performances. She quits the club and returns to the ballet, her true vocation.
