Synopsis

Set in the vast metropolitan offices of Global Credit, a tale about four "temps" who hope to achieve something more permanent than what their jobs--and lives--are providing. At the center is Iris, a shy young woman who invisibly floats from job to job, but who forms an instant bond with three strikingly different women; brassy Margaret who wants to climb up the corporate ladder; dreamy Paula who fantasizes about being an actress; and the compulsive Jane who is simply treading water before marrying and starting a family. The plot thickens when numerous personal items disappear and suspicion naturally falls on the temps. As paranoia sets in, and all sorts of professional and personal conspiracies are imagined, these four women are alternately thrown together and torn apart by the pressures and politics of office life.
