Richard Karlan's acting talents were showcased on the big screen many times throughout the course of his Hollywood career. Karlan started his acting career landing roles in such films as the Mark Stevens drama "Between Midnight and Dawn" (1950), "The Racket" (1951) with Robert Mitchum and "Sailor Beware" (1952) with Dean Martin. He also appeared in the Gary Cooper drama "Blowing Wild" (1953) and the comedy "Abbott and Costello Meet the Mummy" (1955) with Bud Abbott. He kept working in film throughout the fifties, starring in the action movie "Toughest Man Alive" (1955) with Dane Clark, "Accused of Murder" (1956) and "Hollywood or Bust" (1956). Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in the crime feature "Inside the Mafia" (1959) with Cameron Mitchell and the Julie Andrews biopic drama "Star!" (1968). He also worked in television during these years, including a part on "The Twilight Zone" (CBS, 1959-1964). He also was featured in the TV movie "The Missiles of October" (ABC, 1974-75). Karlan more recently appeared in "Betrayal" (NBC, 1978-79).
