Biography
Actor Peter Howell appeared on the big screen many times over the course of his Hollywood career. He also appeared in the TV movie "Hitler's SS: Portrait in Evil" (NBC, 1984). He appeared in a number of television specials, including "Screamer" (ABC, 1974-75) and "Pride and Prejudice" (PBS, 1980-81). At the time, he also appeared in movies like the Leslie Phillips comedic drama "No Kidding" (1961) and the Ray Winstone drama "Scum" (1979). He then appeared in the crime feature "Bellman and True" (1988) with Bernard Hill, "O.M." (1990) and "Shadowlands" (1993) with Anthony Hopkins. More recently, he tackled roles in the dramedy "Princess Caraboo" (1994) with Jim Broadbent and "The Innocent Sleep" (1997). He also was featured in the TV movie "Jane Austen's Emma" (1996-97). Most recently, Howell acted in the dramatic adaptation "The Libertine" (2005) with John Malkovich.
