Biography

Flex Alexander was an accomplished actor who appeared in a variety of films throughout his Hollywood career. He left home at the age of 15 to become a street hustler. In 1989, he made his comedic debut in a New York comedy club. In 1988, he was scared straight from selling drugs after having a brush with death. He had a part on the television special "It's Hot in Here: UPN Fall Preview" (UPN, 1995-96). He also took on a few movie roles at the time, appearing in the Wesley Snipes action picture "Money Train" (1995) and the comedic sports movie "The Sixth Man" (1997) with Marlon Wayans. His work around this time also included a part on the TV movie "Santa and Pete" (CBS, 1999-2000). In the nineties and the early 2000s, he acted in the comedy "She's All That" (1999) with Freddie Prinze Jr. and "Out Cold" (2001). He also worked in television during these years, including a part on "Girlfriends" (2000-08). He spent the early 2000s tackling film roles in "Gas" (2005), "Snakes on a Plane" (2006) and "Poor Boy's Game" (2007). He also appeared in "The Hills Have Eyes 2" (2007) with Jessica Stroup and "Love and Other 4 Letter Words" (2008). Alexander most recently acted in the Essence Atkins drama "My Sister's Wedding" (2013). Alexander was married to Shanice and had two children.
