Synopsis
Los Angeles Police Detective Robert Drake and his girlfriend Alison are two of a small group of people whose fates are entwined as the Earth enters the threshold of a new Ice Age. The others include Drake's ex-wife Julie; their son Max; Julie's new husband Greg; and Kelvin Jones, a jailed lawbreaker. The sun is extinguished by massive sun spots and snow rapidly accumulates. Only Dr. Norman Kistler, who specializes in the study of solar phenomena, understands the seriousness of this event. The ruthless Dr. Kistler encourages Drake's fleeing group to help him reach a ship being sent for the doctor by the President. They are unaware that the ship is ordered to save only the doctor and no one else.
