Jackie DeShannon boasts musical talents that have been featured in a variety of Hollywood productions. DeShannon began her entertainment career with her music featured in films like "The Chicken Chronicles" (1977) with Phil Silvers, the action film "Who'll Stop the Rain?" (1978) with Nick Nolte and the Bill Murray fantastical comedy "Scrooged" (1988). Her music also appeared in the Bruce Willis dramatic adaptation "In Country" (1989). An actress as well as a musician, DeShannon played a part in "Surf Party" (1964) with Bobby Vinton. DeShannon won a Song Of The Year Grammy Award in 1981. In the eighties and the nineties, DeShannon's music continued to appear on the silver screen, including in films like "Becoming Colette" (1992), the Tom Hanks hit dramatic adaptation "Forrest Gump" (1994) and the Julia Roberts blockbuster romantic comedy "My Best Friend's Wedding" (1997). DeShannon's music was also featured in the Geena Davis family sequel "Stuart Little 2" (2002), the Charlize Theron dramatic adaptation "North Country" (2005) and the drama "American Gun" (2006) with Donald Sutherland.
