Synopsis
Unable to obtain a government contract through bribery, Walter Nicholson, an unscrupulous businessman, attempts to blackmail Jim Hawley, an honest Washington official, by setting up a hidden motion picture camera in Hawley's hotel room. He then sends prostitute Carrie Lane to compromise Hawley. Nicholson looks at the film, discovers that his own wife is having an affair with Hawley; he suffers a heart attack and dies, unaware that Hawley had decided to award him the contract. His wife arrives at the office and finds him dead on the floor with the film still running. As she watches, she sees Hawley become reconciled with his alcoholic wife, thereby putting an end to his extra-marital romances.
