Biography

Michael Reilly Burke is a strong-jawed, classically handsome, often clean-cut actor who's become a familiar face to many avid TV viewers through his many appearances on prime-time's most popular police procedurals and science-fiction shows. After landing mostly one-off roles in the early 1990s, he garnered his first starring part opposite Larry Hagman in the legal drama "Orleans," a would-be heir apparent to the popular nighttime soap "Dallas." The show, however, was cancelled after just eight episodes, leaving Burke to move on to recurring roles on such hard-bitten crime dramas as the kinetic "24" and the iconic "NYPD Blue." In 2007, he got another, decidedly more successful, shot at starring on a television series, playing a boozy but well-meaning cop on the tumultuous "Lincoln Heights." In addition to guesting on the grisly forensics show "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" and two of its spinoffs, he has appeared on several series in the eternally celebrated "Star Trek" franchise and once put his sci-fi knowledge to the test as a contestant on the pop-culture-driven game show "Beat the Geeks." Burke has explored his darker side in many of his occasional film roles; he played the title role in the eerie, true-crime serial-killer shocker "Ted Bundy" and appeared as the brutalized victim of a madman in the gory home-invasion horror film, "The Collector."
