Biography
James G. Robinson is the CEO and chairman of Morgan Creek Productions, founded in 1988, which produces films, and Morgan Creek Music Group, which specializes in music within films. Robinson has been the producer or executive producer behind such film franchises as the "Young Guns" Westerns, and the comedies "Ace Ventura" and "Major League." In '91, Robinson executive-produced the hit epic drama "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves," starring Kevin Costner and Morgan Freeman, bringing great attention to both Robinson and Morgan Creek. Through Morgan Creek Music, Robinson has sold millions of soundtracks worldwide. During the early '90s, Robinson also had a hand in producing the crime thriller "True Romance" and the sweeping literary adaptation "The Last of the Mohicans." In '94, Robinson helped introduce Jim Carrey to a wide audience in "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective," which became one of the top-grossing comedies of the year. Later, Robinson produced the horror prequel "Exorcist: The Beginning," the drama "Two for the Money," and Robert De Niro's lauded spy tale "The Good Shepherd."
