Nolan's earliest roles were in film, including the biopic "Jeanne Eagels" (1957) with Kim Novak, the comedic adaptation "Kiss Me, Stupid" (1964) with Dean Martin and the drama "Chastity" (1969) with Cher. He also appeared in "Yanks" (1979) and the comedy adaptation "Fast Times At Ridgemont High" (1982) with Sean Penn. He continued to work steadily in film throughout the eighties, appearing in "Voyage of the Rock Aliens" (1985), the drama "The Falcon and the Snowman" (1985) with Timothy Hutton and "School Spirit" (1985). He also appeared in "Dead Heat" (1988). Toward the end of his career, he continued to act in the Richard Gere smash hit comedy "Pretty Woman" (1990), "Taking Care of Business" (1990) with James Belushi and "Pacific Heights" (1990) with Melanie Griffith. He also appeared in the River Phoenix musical "The Thing Called Love" (1993) and the John Travolta drama "White Man's Burden" (1995). Nolan most recently acted in the Christian Bale box office smash action film "Batman Begins" (2005).
