Melford worked on a variety of projects during his early entertainment career, including "Battling Butler" with Buster Keaton (1926). He proceeded with his career by moving on to write movie scripts for "Seven Sinners" (1936). Later in his career, Melford wrote the dramatic adventure "O.H.M.S." (1937) with Wallace Ford. Melford was married to Jessie Winter. Melford passed away in August 1971 at the age of 87.
