Biography

Versatile stage, television and film actor Ron Masak is best known for his role on the series "Murder, She Wrote." He studied acting and early in his career began working on stage appearing in productions of "A Streetcar Named Desire" and "Julius Caesar." Masak was considered a workhorse and eventually was discovered by producer Harry Ackerman and moved to California. Masak made his TV debut on "The Twilight Zone" in 1960 and his film debut in 1968's "Second Effort." Masak continued to work consistently throughout the 1970s, appearing on numerous television series including "Bewitched," "Mary Tyler Moore" and "Mannix." After a guest appearance on "Land of the Lost," he appeared in multiple episodes of "Barney Miller" and "Police Story" as well as the film "Woman in the Rain." In the 1980s he appeared on the shows "Private Benjamin," "Webster" and "Falcon Crest" before receiving his most consistent and notable role on the series "Murder, She Wrote." He starred in 41 episodes from 1985 to 1996.
