Biography
No matter what role, Edward Marshall never failed to cause uncontrollable laughter throughout his film career. Marshall kickstarted his acting career with roles in various television comedies, such as "M*A*S*H" (CBS, 1972-1983). He additionally landed roles in the TV movies "Betrayal" (ABC, 1974-75) and "It Couldn't Happen to a Nicer Guy" (ABC, 1974-75). Marshall was nominated for a British Art Direction: Black and White BAFTA Award for "The Pumpkin Eater" in 1964 as well as for an Art Direction (Black-and-White) Academy Award for "The Spy Who Came in From the Cold" in 1965. He also appeared in the TV special "The Girl Who Couldn't Lose" (ABC, 1974-75). His work around this time also included a part on the TV movie "Winner Take All" (NBC, 1974-75). He next focused his entertainment career on film, appearing in the action picture "Jackson County Jail" (1976) with Yvette Mimieux and the dramatic comedy "Nickelodeon" (1976) with Ryan O'Neal. Marshall's more recent roles included "Love At First Bite" (1979) with George Hamilton, "9 to 5" (1980) and "Carbon Copy" (1981). He also appeared in the Lois Smith thriller "Twisted" (1986). Most recently, Marshall acted in the comedic drama "Bandwagon" (1997) with Kevin Corrigan.
