Biography

Sound engineer Chris Jenkins began his career in the entertainment industry on the Steven Spielberg war comedy "1941" (1979), on which he worked as a sound re-recording mixer. He worked in this capacity throughout the 1980s, working on such films as "Body Heat" (1981), "Against All Odds" (1984), "Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo" (1985), and "Out of Africa" (1985). For his work on "Out of Africa," Jenkins received an Academy Award for Best Sound. In 1990 he was nominated for the honor again for his work on "Dick Tracy" (1990). Jenkins won the Academy Award a second time in 1992 for his work on the Michael Mann film "The Last of the Mohicans" (1992). Jenkins worked consistently throughout the next decade, collaborating on projects like "The Client" (1994), "Moonlight and Valentino" (1995), "Dante's Peak" (1997), "A Beautiful Mind" (2001) and "Norbit" (2007). In 2008 Jenkins was again nominated for the Academy Award for his work on the James McAvoy and Angelina Jolie movie "Wanted". In 2015 Jenkins was nominated for and won the Academy Award for Best Sound for his work on George Miller's "Mad Max Fury Road" (2015).
