Circumstances conspire in Lincoln, Nebraska against the lovers as Rae (Susan Hayward) is finally convinced Marine Paul (John Gavin), who’s shipping-out for Chicago, really wants her to join him, her roommate (Virginia Grey) mediating on the phone, in the third movie version of Back Street, 1961.
