Synopsis

At a west coast advertising agency Nick Sloane is fired for trying to steal the firm's biggest account from under the nose of his boss, D. O. Griggs. The only one surprised by the dismissal is Griggs's secretary, Connie Jackson, who refuses to believe that Nick is capable of anything underhanded. Later, Connie receives a phone call from a small town in Arkansas, where Nick has discovered a 9-year-old singing preacher, Methuselah Jones. Duped into believing that Nick's intentions are sincere, Connie quits her job and joins Nick in helping Methuselah and his two younger brothers achieve national prominence. While Connie is busy persuading television promotion man Jerry Harper to put the youngsters on the air, Nick spends his evenings with Miss Hathaway, a beautiful blonde, and dreams up ways to exploit his clients. Eventually, the disillusioned Jones brothers force Connie to see Nick in his true light. The youngsters return to their Ozark home, and Connie rejects Nick for Jerry's love.
