Synopsis
Famous radio tenor Danny O'Day is arrested after getting involved in a fracas while escorting ballet dancer Delphine, whom he secretly loves, to her car. Danny is subsequently late for a broadcast and, after insulting the wife of a radio sponsor, is kicked off the air. Later, Danny meets his friend, Jerry Burke, at Jack Dempsey's restaurant and they decide to vacation on the S.S. Normandie . Also on board is Delphine, who has broken her contract and eluded her manager, Antonio Grezato, and is bound for Europe with her friend, Dot Frost. Delphine disguises herself as a schoolteacher but, in turn, is being impersonated by Maizie Marshall, who is her look-alike. Nick Harrington, a crook, has forced Maizie into impersonating Delphine, and during a ball, she and Nick steal Delphine's passport and letter of credit, planning to blackmail her by threatening to expose her true identity. When the ship docks in Havre, France, peace propagandist James P. Hargrave is arrested on suspicion of being a Communist agitator after asking Danny to sing at an international peace broadcast. Delphine, who befriended Hargrave, is arrested too. Maizie, meanwhile, is interviewed by the press and offered a part in the ballet Appasionata for 100,000 francs, with half in advance. While Danny performs from the Eiffel Tower in the peace broadcast, Dot tells him about Hargrave and Delphine's arrests and he gets them released. Under police guard, Delphine and Danny rush to the theater where Maizie is to dance. There, Maizie is exposed as an impostor, and she and Nick are forced to return their salary advance. Delphine stars in the ballet herself and is a big hit. Delphine and Danny and Dot and Jerry then discuss plans for a double wedding.

Notes
This film's working title was Romance Unlimited. Scenes in the film were shot on location in NBC Studios and Jack Dempsey's restaurant in New York and on the S.S. Normandie. Contemporary sources disagree on the spelling of Frank Moreno's character: Variety lists him as Antonio Grebato, while the pressbook credits and plot summary found in copyright records list him as Antonio Grezato and Antonio Grezaro respectively. According to an unidentified news item, Sidney Fox was scheduled to star opposite radio tenor Frank Parker. Joey Ray, Mary Small, James Wallington and the New Yorkers, a group of twenty-four singers, were also listed in the cast. It is unclear whether or not they appeared in the final film.
