Synopsis
Texan Ken Masters believes that his father Bob was framed for a crime committed by Silas Stone. When Stone orders Ken out of town, the two men fight. During their fight, Hank, Stone's son, kills his father with a rock and blames the murder on Ken. Knowing that he will not get a fair trial, Ken runs away to Mexico. Dick Evans tracks him down and arrests him. Ken admits that he was wrong to run away and agrees to return with Dick. During their trip back, Dick is attacked by crocodiles. When his leg becomes gangrenous, Ken offers to amputate it. Dick commits suicide, however, asking Ken to deliver a letter to his sweetheart, Alice Adams. Ken disguises himself as Dick and heads for the Adams' house. As Dick, he tells Captain Adams that he believes Ken to be innocent and asks permission to continue the case. Alice soon realizes that Ken is not Dick. After he gives her Dick's letter, Ken explains who he is and that he intends to prove Hank guilty of his father's murder. Alice, meanwhile, has promised to attend a Halloween party with Hank. At the dance, Hank penetrates Ken's disguise and organizes his men to ambush Ken. Ken discovers a secret passage from a mine shaft to the graveyard where he finds his father. Alice overhears Hank's plans and rides off to warn Ken. At the house, Bob tells his son that when he discovered gold under the house, Stone offered to buy it, and when he would not sell, Stone framed him. Hank's men arrive and a shootout ensues. Then the rangers, led by Adams, arrive to round up Hank's gang. Ken rescues Alice from Hank, and the two kiss as they ride off together.
