Synopsis

Professional wrangler Ben Lane lassos a wild horse in the desert to replace his lost mount and is stopped by a group of toughs, who prepare to hang him as a horsethief. He is rescued by gunman Frank Jesse, and the two men ride into Perdido, where they are confronted by an attractive blonde, Kelly. She hires them to escort her through dangerous Indian territory to rejoin her husband in Santa Rita del Cobre. En route the party is forced to take refuge in a ruined mission and fight off marauding Indians. During the gunplay, Kelly is on the point of shooting Jesse in the back when she is wounded by an Indian spear. She then reveals to Ben that her husband is dead, having been murdered by hired-killer Jesse, and she confesses her determination to take revenge. When Ben suggests they turn back, Jesse refuses. (Secretly he plans to gain possession of the money Kelly has in the Santa Rita bank.) He knocks Ben unconscious and kidnaps Kelly. Ben follows them, kills Jesse in a showdown, and rides off with Kelly.
