Posse From Hell

1h 29m 1961

Brief Synopsis

Murphy goes after bad guys who shot his friend the sheriff and abducted a local girl. In a plot reminiscent of High Noon, the posse of town blowhards gradually abandons Murphy; only tenderfoot banker Saxon remains, to prove his manhood. When they find the girl, obviously abused by her captors, Murphy shows her acceptance and sympathy whereas the others disply only revulsion.

Synopsis

Four killers escape from prison and invade the small Western town of Paradise, where they murder four men and rob the local bank. They abduct young Helen Caldwell as they depart, rape her on the trail, and then leave her to die. Former gunslinger Banner Cole sets out after the gang with a posse of seven, including city-born bank clerk Seymour Kern, who has volunteered to join the hunters. After finding and rescuing Helen, they track down and kill one of the outlaws. The posse dwindles as the hunt continues until only Banner, Helen, and Seymour remain. They manage to round up the remaining outlaws, however, and with peace once more restored, Banner agrees to become the marshal of Paradise, and Helen agrees to remain by his side.
