Synopsis
In 1918, patriotism fluourishes in a small town in Texas during the height of United States' involvement in World War I. As young men swept up in the furvor enilst, Horace Robedaux is torn. Horace does not want to leave his wife Elizabeth and young daughter Jenny, but his wife's father, who opposed their marriage, is preparing to take care of the two of them so that Horace can go and fight. However, when the influenza epidemic reaches their town, plans are called into question.
