Synopsis
Toby Locke finds himself drawn into the loan shark business and soon discovers that his life is being ruined. When his wife Judith leaves him, he kills one of the loan sharks in order to steal money to start a new life with her. Toby has to force Judith to come with him, however, because she disapproves of his crimes, and has fallen in love with Dr. Craig Mitchell, who saved her life after a suicide attempt. As Smiles Badolino, the brother of the gangster whom Toby killed, finds him, the police arrive and the criminals are apprehended.
