Synopsis

In the town of Silver Forks, Daisy Cameron deals cards at the Half-way House Saloon, which is run by Rod Jackson. When her younger sister, June Forbes, arrives from the East, Daisy orders Jackson's henchmen to stage a hold-up of the express coach in the hope that June will be scared away before finding out what Daisy does. The ambush is foiled by Johnny McVey, who has come to town in search of his cousin Bill, to whom Johnny sent $5,000 for a ranch. Lucky Danvers, a friend of Johnny's, has just arranged a loan with banker Simpson for his mine, and has thirty days to begin operation or forfeit the mine. Daisy, meanwhile, poses as a ranch housekeeper to protect her sister, and warns Jackson to stay away from her. When Lucky and Johnny are shot at while at the mine, Johnny holds up the men and takes them to the sheriff. Jackson stages a jailbreak, however, after which Simpson's vault is robbed. Pepper, one of Jackson's henchmen, who was wounded in the jailbreak, hides in Jackson's office, then escapes to Herkimer Stone's adjacent barber shop, making Johnny suspicious that Herkimer and Jackson are partners. When Simpson tells Johnny and Lucky that the robbery occurred after Daisy asked him to open the vault for her jewels, Johnny warns Daisy to go East and find a husband. Johnny then finds a letter which proves that Herkimer put up the money for Lucky's loan and is planning to steal the mine. When Jackson proposes to June, Daisy threatens to talk and is shot by Pepper. Johnny shoots Pepper in return, and he and Lucky rescue Daisy, who goes to the sheriff. Before Johnny can catch Jackson, he shoots Herkimer, who is trying to flee town with the bank loot. Johnny apprehends Jackson, and he is found guilty of Bill's murder. Daisy and June leave for the East, and Daisy promises Johnny she will learn to cook.
