Synopsis

Kelly, a minstrel singer known as "Come-back" because of his weakness for liquor, degenerates because of his unhappiness with Polly Malone, a burlesque actress. He finds refuge in a cheap hotel, where he is cared for by Molly, a slavey. Rand, producer of the minstrel show to which Kelly was attached, induces him to return to work, and he finds success when he changes his song hit, "Polly," to "Molly." When Polly returns, Kelly introduces Molly as his wife, and she later consents to marry him. Molly joins the show and leads the grand parade at every performance. In Detroit, Kelly weakens and goes on a spree with Polly; rejected, Molly, who is pregnant, contemplates suicide. Realizing the truth, Kelly promises to go straight, and Molly beseeches God to help them both in their struggle.
