Synopsis

Secret service agent Joe "Lefty" Keyes goes undercover as an inmate to break out convict Dutch Walton, who knows the location of a half-million dollar heist taken in a postal robbery. Once free, Lefty and Dutch take jobs on Judge Childers' ranch near where the money is buried. Shortly after their arrival, Georgia Stevens, who is disguised as a boy, arrives looking for work. After her ruse is discovered, Childers gives her a job as his secretary so she can earn money to go to California. Walton's old gang, now cattle rustling in the area, sends one member to follow Walton to insure their fair share of the hidden booty. Walton discovers the money is missing from its hiding place. After a fight with the foreman, Walton is fired and is picked up by a couple of gang members, who take him to the new hideout to explain. They argue about who has the money until they realize that one member is no longer with the gang--Shorty--who is now a cook on the Childers' ranch. Walton takes over again as gang leader, and they decide to question Shorty. Lefty is caught listening outside the hideout and drops his watch, which identifies him as an agent in the ensuing scuffle. He is left with Shorty and a guard as the rest of the gang rides out to Childers' ranch to recover the money Shorty placed in the judge's safe. Lefty escapes and rides to the ranch, arriving as the gang is preparing to blow open the safe. Walton escapes under cover of the explosion and Lefty rides out to capture him. Lefty returns with Walton as the other gang members are being arrested. With two weeks vacation, Lefty decides to go to California with Georgia.
