Synopsis

Returning home following a tour of duty in Germany, Ted arrives at Logan International Airport and is greeted by his girl friend, Karen, and her friends Judi and The Brattle Street East, a rock group who welcome Ted with a song. At his homecoming party, Karen's roommate, Elaine, incurs Karen's anger by inviting Ted to try her new sportscar. They have car trouble, and by the time Ted and Elaine finally return the party has ended, and Karen angrily informs Elaine that they have been evicted. Karen refuses to see Ted, and in an effort to patch up the couple Elaine suggests to Ted that he help Karen move. The reconciled couple then goes to hear their friends, The Montclairs, compete in the Jaycees' "Battle of the Bands." To the crowd's delight, The Montclairs win first place. The next day, Ted, Karen, and Elaine and her date, Danny, go to the music and dance party on the banks of the Charles River, where they all have a good time.
