Biography
Frank Dolan was widely known for his acting on the big screen. Dolan's film career started with such writing credits as "Amateur Daddy" (1932), "Man of the People" (1937) and "Street of Missing Men" (1939) with Charles Bickford. In addition to his writing, Dolan acted in the dramatic adaptation "Charly" (1968) with Cliff Robertson. He continued to work steadily in film throughout the seventies and the eighties, appearing in the dramatic comedy "Mr. North" (1988) with Anthony Edwards and "Race For Glory" (1989). He also appeared in the TV special "The Great American Fourth of July and Other Disasters" (PBS, 1981-82). His work around this time also included a part on the TV movie "See How She Runs" (CBS, 1977-78). He also had a part in the TV miniseries "The Kennedys of Massachusetts" (1989-1990). Dolan's distinctive voice can be heard on "Africans in America -- America's Journey Through Slavery" (PBS, 1998-99). Most recently, Dolan appeared in "The Boyhood of John Muir" (PBS, 1998-99).
