Synopsis
Dr. Sandor Schreck, known as Dr. Terror, joins five men in a train compartment and proceeds to tell each man's future with tarot cards. Architect Jim Dawson, on his way to visit his birthplace, is told that the current owner of the house, a beautiful widow named Dierdre Biddulph, will turn into a werewolf and kill him. Bill Rogers learns that a creeping vine growing on his house will engulf and destroy his family. Dr. Terror warns jazz musician Biff Bailey that the voodoo god Dambala will haunt him for performing music used in secret voodoo rites in Haiti. Bob Carroll, an American physician, hears a macabre tale in which he is persuaded by his colleague Dr. Blake to kill his new bride, Nicolle, because she is a vampire; in reality Blake, too, is a vampire, given to eliminating his competitors in the medical profession, and Carroll hangs for murder because of Blake's treachery. Art critic Franklyn Marsh, who has been skeptical of Dr. Terror's predictions, is the last to hear his future, in which the dismembered hand of an artist whom Marsh drove to suicide follows him and causes a car accident that leaves Marsh blind. As the train comes to a stop, the mysterious Dr. Terror disappears, and the five men meet their respective fates.

Quotes
Schreck? That's a German word isn't it? Means fear or horror.- Dawson
A more exact translation would be terror. An unfortunate misnomer for I am the mildest of men.- Dr. Schreck
